FOSTER
Prior to permanent placement, our rescue Ridgebacks often spend time in foster homes. This gives Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue, Inc., an opportunity to properly evaluate the health, temperament, and general condition of the dogs. We can, therefore, better address the specific needs of each dog and better match them up with prospective adoptive families. Fostering is an important responsibility that is best performed by persons experienced in handling dogs.

TRANSPORT
Help is always needed to transport rescue dogs to and from homes, shelters, kennels, and veterinary appointments. Sometimes this means picking up a dog and driving it across town, other times it means driving it to a new home in another state.

VOLUNTEER
There are many other opportunities to volunteer your time to Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue, Inc., that involve as little or as much time as you can afford. They include:

• Educating the staff of animal shelters and humane societies about the mission of Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue, Inc.;
• Asking boarding kennels and veterinarians to provide no-charge or discounted services for rescue dogs;
• Assisting Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue, Inc., with fundraising activities; and
• Finding prospective adoptive homes.

While Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue, Inc., relies primarily on volunteers for its work, there are still many out-of-pocket costs involved for food, shelter and kennel fees, veterinary care, transportation and other expenses. Your donation of $10, $25, $50, or more, will make a difference.
